Gatchalian expects more POGO arrests following Lyu Dong’s apprehension

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian announced on Friday that he expects more individuals, like Lyu Dong, also known as Lin Xunhan, to be arrested by authorities in the coming days.

Gatchalian stated that the arrest of Lin Xunhan, referred to as “Boss Boga,” a significant figure behind the proliferation of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) scam hubs in the country, “marks a big win in our fight against POGO-related social ills.”

“Thanks to the relentless efforts of authorities led by the PAOCC, this is a major achievement, as Lin Xunhan was included in the search warrant executed on June 4 against Lucky South 99 in Porac, Pampanga,” he added.

The suspect is a Chinese national who has been operating scam networks in the country for an extended period under a false identity.

“This underscores the critical need for constant vigilance and monitoring of cross-border activities involving high-profile individuals. It is also vital to investigate the Filipino bodyguards and associates linked to Lin Xunhan,” Gatchalian emphasized.

The senator expressed optimism that the latest arrest would help “cripple POGOs that continue to perpetrate criminalities, including widespread scams.”

The suspect was apprehended around 8 p.m. while leaving his home during a social event.

Winston Casio, spokesperson for the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), confirmed that the operation was coordinated with the Bureau of Immigration and the Department of Justice.

The suspect is currently being held at the PAOCC Detention Facility for further investigation.

Authorities remain hopeful that he will provide leads on other illegal POGO operations in the country.
