Did Sarah G receive an exclusive offer from GMA?

Have you heard of the P800-million worth of contract allegedly offered to Sarah Geronimo by GMA-7? Well, it’s fake news.

In the past few weeks, the online Marites tribe has been talking about the contract that the pop queen allegedly rejected. And now that GMA management has broken its silence, it became clear that Sarah G did not turn down the offer since there was no offer presented to her to begin with.

In a message sent to Manila Standard Entertainment, Senior Vice President for GMA Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable finally put an end to the rumors saying that the country’s leading network had reached out to the pop star to be its exclusive talent for five years.

“Ang tagal na din naming naririnig ‘yan, but no,wala kaming offer kay Sarah G,” was Rasonable’s short but clear response. 

Rumors about Sarah G transferring to GMA started to spread when her digital concert, Tala: The Film Concert, was shown on the media network’s international channel.

The transfer rumors then intensified due to actress-singer’s nonappearnce in any Kapamilya shows since November 2020. Her camp was even mum about the spreading rumors.

On July 24, Sarah G returned to Kapamilya Sunday musical variety show Asap Natin ‘To prompting her fans to celebrate online. Social media went abuzz with the show’s official hashtag trending worldwide, and securing the number one spot nationwide on Twitter Philippines. 

The the 34-year-old pop queen herself delivered a music video performance of her hit song “Duyan” on ASAP’s newest segment, “Sarah G. Specials.” 

Sarah G has been a mainstay of the weekend variety program since 2004.
